Key Points

  • Unqualified folks got registered as doctors in Rajasthan with fake papers.
  • The council totally dropped the ball on verifying these docs.
  • Several officials, including the registrar, got suspended after this came to light.
  • The Anti Corruption Bureau is on the case, looking into possible corruption.

Looma News

A bunch of unqualified people has managed to sneak in and register as doctors in Rajasthan. They used forged documents to fool the Rajasthan Medical Council (RMC) and even started practicing medicine. Can you believe that?

Documents obtained by India Today show a shocking list of these so-called “doctors” who have zero medical degrees. The RMC, which is supposed to check qualifications, completely dropped the ball. Instead of verifying the legitimacy of the certificates and registration documents, they accepted forged copies without a second thought.

The Fallout

This mess led to some serious consequences. On Tuesday, the RMC’s registrar, Dr. Rajesh Sharma, along with two other staff members, got fired. The Health Minister, Gajendra Singh Khinvsar, set up a five-member committee to investigate, and based on their findings, immediate suspensions were handed out.

Who Are These Fake Doctors?

Among the culprits is Sarimul Majumdar, who used the credentials of a doctor from Tamil Nadu. Then there’s Shantanu Kumar, who submitted a fake Bihar Medical Council registration that doesn’t even exist. Pankaj Yadav and Deepak Choudhary also pulled similar tricks with unverifiable registration numbers. Even more bizarre, Devender Nehra and Geeta Kumari forged certificates from doctors registered in Maharashtra to get into the Rajasthan system!

Next Steps

The Anti Corruption Bureau is now on the case. Their DG, Dr. Ravi Prakash Meharda, said they’ll investigate any corruption angles. If they find any public officials involved, they’ll be filing an FIR and diving deeper into this scandal. It’s definitely a wake-up call for the medical registration process in Rajasthan, and hopefully, it leads to better checks in the future.
