During a rally by Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, TDP leader Nawab Jan announced that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will stop any laws that negatively impact Muslims. Jan talked about Naidu’s way of leading, saying he considers both Hindu and Muslim interests. He pointed out that hurting one group affects everyone. Under Naidu, Muslims have reportedly gained significant benefits since India became independent. Jan reaffirmed that Naidu is committed to fairness and will not back laws that harm any religious community.

The debate around the Waqf (Amendment) Bill is growing, with Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind intensifying its opposition. The group urged Naidu and JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar to respect Muslim feelings regarding the proposed law, calling it “dangerous.” The bill, introduced in August, is now being looked at by a Joint Parliamentary Committee after sparking a lot of discussion. While the government insists the bill won’t interfere with mosque activities, critics believe it targets Muslims and threatens constitutional values.

There have been tensions in the Joint Committee, with opposition members accusing the Chair of favoring groups linked to Hindu interests. Meanwhile, BJP members claim that opposition parties are causing disruptions. The political scene is complicated, as the BJP doesn’t have a majority in the Lok Sabha and needs support from parties like the TDP and JD(U) to keep running the government.
