Recently, a bunch of writers and poets gathered to really urge the government to do something about the kidney crisis in Uddanam. At a function in Palasa, former vice-chancellor K.S. Chalam didn’t hold back, pushing for a solid plan to finally tackle this health issue.
Voices from the Community
During the event, Chalam launched a powerful book called ‘Uddanam-Kidney Vishadalu’, put together by Badri Kurmarao, the guy behind Gidugu Ramamurthy Telugu Bhasha Janapada Kalapetham. This book features stories and poems from around fifty writers and poets, all sharing the tough experiences faced by thousands in the Uddanam area.
A Hope for Change
Sannasetti Rajasekhar, the president of Kalingaseema Sahitya Samastha, is hopeful the government will hear these heartfelt cries for help. He thinks that the voices of these scholars and thinkers might spark some real action.
Kurmarao made it clear that the situation is really bad. Over the past forty years, so many lives have been lost because previous government efforts just haven’t matched the reality. This ongoing crisis needs urgent attention and a real plan if there’s any chance of easing the suffering in Uddanam.
With local leaders, doctors, and community members all present, the gathering showed a strong commitment to push for change. Everyone’s eagerly waiting to see the government step up and provide the solutions that so many desperately need.
