Wildlife Officials Under Fire After 10 Elephants Die in Bandhavgarh

A review by the Madhya Pradesh government into the deaths of 10 elephants at Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve resulted in the suspension of two wildlife officials. The Field Director did not return from leave and ignored his responsibilities, while the Deputy Forest Divisional Officer handed off his duties during the crisis.
