Farmers Clash with Police Over Compensation in Punjab’s Bathinda

Hundreds of farmers clashed with police in Bathinda, Punjab, over compensation for land taken for the Bharatmala highway project. Led by the Bharatiya Kisan Union Ekta Upagraha, the farmers protested the unequal compensation amounts. The clashes left both farmers and police injured. Local officials said compensation payments were based on land location, but farmers demanded more equal payouts.
