BSNL added 8.49 lakh new mobile subscribers in September, marking its second straight month of growth. Meanwhile, its competitors—Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, and Vodafone Idea—lost millions of customers due to tariff hikes. By the end of September, BSNL's total subscriber count reached 9.18 crore. Overall, the number of wireless subscribers in India dropped by 0.87%, with both rural and urban areas seeing losses.
