Manish Narwal, a 22-year-old shooter from Ballabgarh, Haryana, recently shone at the Paris Paralympics 2024 by scoring silver in the Men’s 10m Air Pistol (SH1) event. He was in the lead for most of the match, but South Korean pro Jo Jeongdu pulled ahead to take the gold. Even though he didn’t win, Narwal’s performance was impressive, especially considering his congenital impairment in his right hand.

He got into shooting in 2016 after a family trip to a local range. What started as a hobby soon turned into something serious, thanks to his coach Jai Prakash Nautiyal who helped him make his international debut at the Bangkok World Cup in 2017. Narwal’s standout win in the P1 – 10m Air Pistol SH1 event and setting a Junior World Record showed he was a rising star.

Over the years, Narwal has made a name for himself in para-shooting, winning gold at the Paralympics and Asian Games and snagging a bronze at the 2022 Asian Para Games. His passion and dedication have helped him set many world records and become a top competitor in the sport.
