a) Loomanews.com is dedicated to publishing accurate information across all of its content. We rigorously investigate claims with skepticism, question assumptions, and challenge conventional wisdom to ensure the accuracy of our reporting.
b) We are committed to achieving due accuracy in all our content. This commitment is essential to maintaining our reputation and the trust of our audience. The term ‘due’ means that accuracy must be adequate and appropriate to the content, considering the subject and nature of the material. Any constraints affecting accuracy expectations are explicitly mentioned.
c) Our output, as appropriate to its content and nature, must be well-sourced, evidence-based, and corroborated. We strive to be transparent about what we don’t know and avoid unfounded speculation.
d) Our journalists are committed to integrity; they never plagiarize, distort facts, or misrepresent context, including visual information.
e) We seek independent verification from reliable sources to confirm claims, especially those made by public officials or parties with potential agendas. Claims and allegations that cannot be corroborated are generally attributed.
f) Loomanews.com stands by the information it publishes and deems it to be accurate. If proven otherwise, we promptly amend the content. We do not knowingly mislead our audience, distort facts, or present fabricated material as truth, as these actions would undermine our readers’ trust. We acknowledge serious factual errors and correct them swiftly and transparently.
g) We offer the public a fair opportunity to report any inaccuracies or errors via the ‘Suggest A Correction’ section at the end of every published story.
h) Our journalists’ primary responsibility is reporting, writing, and fact-checking stories. Each story undergoes review by one or more editors. Loomanews.com has a multi-level fact-checking structure, with the level of editorial oversight varying based on factors such as the story’s complexity, sensitivity, and time constraints.
Correction Policies
While Loomanews.com strives for excellence and accuracy, we acknowledge that errors may occur. When they do, we take full responsibility for correcting them and maintaining a high level of transparency to ensure that incorrect information does not spread.
Steps for Ensuring Accuracy, Transparency, and Excellence:
Readers: If a reader identifies an error, they should contact the editor-in-chief, immediately via email.
- Email: loomanews@gmail.com
Subject: Correction Needed
A correction is officially recognized only when submitted directly to the editor-in-chief. Corrections reported to other staff members may not be addressed promptly or at all.
When submitting a correction via email or mail, please include the following:
- The correction and the correct information.
- The issue date or number.
- Where the correction was seen (print, online, etc.).
- The reader’s name and contact details (phone number or email address).
- A source for the correct information, if applicable (e.g., meeting minutes, official records).
The reader can expect a response from the editor-in-chief and may be contacted for further clarification if necessary. Note that submitting a correction guarantees that the error will be investigated but does not guarantee that a correction will be issued.
Loomanews.com: Upon being informed of an error, the editor-in-chief will investigate using the information provided by the reader, reporter’s recordings, and any other relevant sources.
If an error is confirmed, the editor-in-chief will issue a correction across all platforms where the incorrect information was disseminated:
- Print: Corrections will be printed on page 2A of the next issue, detailing the issue, article, and incorrect information, along with the correction.
- Loomanews.com: The online article will be corrected, and an editor’s note will be added at the bottom, noting the correction and the date of the change.
- Social Media: If the article was shared on platforms like Facebook, Twitter, or other online media controlled by Loomanews.com, a post will be made linking to the corrected article and noting the correction.
After the correction is made, the editor-in-chief will contact the reader who submitted the correction to inform them of the steps taken to rectify the error.
