The Taj Hotel in Lucknow received a bomb threat email on Monday, after several other hotels in the city were threatened the day before. Police reports say the email warned of a potential bomb explosion at the hotel, located in the Hazratganj area.

On Sunday, October 27, bomb threats were sent to several hotels, including Marriott, Saraca, Piccadily, Comfort Vista, Fortune, Lemon Tree, Clark Awadh, Casa, Dayal Gateway, and Silvette. The threatening email asked for $55,000 (around Rs 4,624,288), claiming bombs were hidden in black bags on hotel property. The message stated, “I want $55,000, or I will detonate the explosives and blood will spread everywhere. Any attempt to defuse the bombs will set them off.”

Authorities had already sent bomb squads to check these hotels, and after thorough searches, they found all threats to be untrue. This latest incident follows similar bomb threats to three hotels in Tirupati district, Andhra Pradesh. Investigations into the email’s origin are ongoing, and bomb squads have returned to the Taj Hotel for more inspections.
