In a bizarre incident in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan, a man who had been declared dead by doctors came back to life while being taken to the crematorium. Rohitash, a mentally challenged man, was admitted to BDK Hospital early Thursday morning in an unconscious condition. Despite his state, doctors declared him dead and moved his body to the mortuary for an autopsy.
The doctors, assuming that the body was unclaimed, didn’t physically check the corpse. Instead, they just prepared a report for the police and sent it without performing a post-mortem. Rohitash’s body stayed in the mortuary freezer for about four hours. However, as the body was being taken to the crematorium, Rohitash suddenly revived, leaving both his family and the authorities in shock.
The local Revenue Officer and police were quickly sent to investigate. Authorities reviewed CCTV footage and began looking into the case. The District Collector, Ramavatar Meena, called the incident a serious case of negligence and forwarded the report to the Rajasthan Health Department.
In response, the state government acted fast, suspending the Chief Medical Officer, Sandeep Pachar, along with two other doctors, Yogesh Jakhar and Navneet Meel. Pachar has been reassigned to Jaisalmer, Jakhar to Barmer, and Meel to Jalore. A formal departmental inquiry is now underway to find out what led to this shocking event.
