Delhi remains the most polluted city in India on Friday, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 371, placing it in the “very poor” category. After dealing with severe pollution for over a week, the capital city saw slight improvement but still faces dangerous air quality. Lucknow and Patna, also facing high pollution, hold the second and third spots with AQIs of 367 and 249, respectively, both categorized as “very poor.”
On the other hand, Aizawl in Mizoram recorded the lowest pollution level in India, with an AQI of just 27, categorized as “good.” Bagalkot, a city in Karnataka, also reported a low AQI of 43, making it one of the least polluted areas on Friday. Other cities like Ahmedabad (208), Bhopal (248), and Jaipur (244) experienced poor air quality, while Bengaluru (118), Bhubaneswar (171), and Kolkata (186) had moderate conditions.
Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala stood out with the best air quality, reporting an AQI of 57, categorized as “satisfactory.” Other cities such as Hyderabad (108), Raipur (129), and Mumbai (124) also had moderate pollution levels, showing a range of air quality across the country.
As pollution levels in Indian cities continue to change, residents and authorities are advised to take precautions, especially in areas with “very poor” air quality.
