At a recent graduation at the Netaji Subhas University of Technology, Delhi CM Atishi made some pretty bold statements about how we check up on our universities. She pointed out that it’s not enough to just see how many students get jobs after they graduate. We also need to think about how many jobs those grads are creating themselves. It’s all about empowering the youth to be not just job seekers but job makers!

Atishi mentioned that a huge 81% of NSUT grads found jobs, which is awesome, but she thinks universities need to step up when it comes to encouraging entrepreneurial skills. She said, “The biggest challenge our youths face today is unemployment,” pushing for a shift from just looking at placement percentages to creating new job opportunities.

She also shared some cool stories from the Delhi government’s Business Blaster program, which gives students the cash they need to kickstart their own businesses. It’s all about giving them the tools to succeed and build a future where they can create jobs for others.

To top it off, Delhi’s Lt. Gov. V K Saxena backed her up, saying that India’s youth are its biggest national asset. Their contributions are super important for the country’s growth. So, as we celebrate these grads, let’s also think about how we can help them on their path to becoming the job creators of tomorrow.
