The National Conference came out on top with 42 out of 90 seats. The BJP followed with 29, while the Congress party, in cahoots with the National Conference, snagged six. The political scene is definitely shifting, with the PDP and other smaller parties also making some noise.

Notable Victories

Among the big wins, BJP’s Devender Singh Rana stole the spotlight by winning his Nagrota seat with a massive margin of over 30,000 votes. He pulled in 48,113 votes against his opponent’s 17,641. Plus, he’s the richest candidate in Jammu, with assets worth Rs 126 crore!

Another standout was Surjeet Singh Slathia, who took the Samba seat with a victory margin of 30,309 votes. Congress leader Ghulam Ahmad Mir also had a solid win in Dooru, beating his opponent by nearly 30,000 votes.

Narrow Wins

But not every race was a slam dunk. There were some nail-biters too. A total of 15 seats had margins under 1,500 votes, and a few were even tighter than 500. For example, PDP’s Rafiq Ahmad Naik won his Tral seat by just 460 votes, making it the closest race. Other tight contests included BJP’s Shagun Parihar and NC’s Javaid Riyaz, both winning by slim margins.

This mix of big wins and close calls paints an exciting picture of Jammu and Kashmir’s changing political vibe. It’s clear that every vote matters, and these results set the stage for some intriguing political moves ahead.
