Kangana Ranaut, the actor turned BJP MP, is at it again. Her latest Instagram post has got everyone talking, as she seems to brush off Mahatma Gandhi’s important title while paying tribute to Lal Bahadur Shastri. Seriously, can we keep politics drama-free for a second?
On Gandhi Jayanti, she said, “Desh ke pita nahi, desh ke to lal hote hai. Dhanye hai Bharat ma ke ye lal,” which means, “The country doesn’t have fathers; it has sons. Blessed are these sons of Mother India.” Not the best timing, especially since it was Gandhi’s birthday. Her comments got slammed hard, with Congress leader Supriya Shrinate calling her BJP’s “new Godse devotee.” Yikes!
Even some folks in her own party, like BJP leader Manoranjan Kalia, chimed in, saying Ranaut really knows how to stir the pot and that she should think twice before speaking out. Can’t argue with that!
This isn’t the first time she’s found herself in hot water. Her earlier comments about farmers’ protests, where she suggested they created a “Bangladesh-like situation,” didn’t exactly win her any fans. Her outspoken style is definitely a trademark, but it seems to be a bit of a double-edged sword in her political career.
As this saga unfolds, we’ll see how her party deals with the fallout. For now, it’s clear that Ranaut’s controversial words are keeping the political scene buzzing.
