Looma News

Awesome news for commuters in Bengaluru! The much-awaited Green Line extension of the Namma Metro is all set to open this month. The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) just got the go-ahead from the Commissioner for Metro Railway Safety (CMRS) to start revenue service between Nagasandra and Madavara.

On October 3, CMRS officials wrapped up their inspection, and everything’s looking good. This new 3.7 km stretch faced a crazy five-year delay due to tricky land issues near NICE Road and, of course, the pandemic mess.

What’s in Store?

Once it opens, you’ll have three new stations to hop on: Manjunathnagar, Chikkabidarakallu, and Madavara. This extension is a total game changer for getting around, especially if you’re heading to the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC), a big spot for events and exhibitions in the city.

If you’ve been waiting for this extension, you’re in good company. The BMRCL has promised that commercial operations will kick off in October, and with the recent green light, the wait is almost over. Get ready for an easier ride around the city.
