An Air India Express flight (IX-196) was on its way from Dubai to Jaipur when it got a bomb threat via email. The flight, with 189 passengers on board, made a safe emergency landing at Jaipur International Airport around 1:20 am Saturday. Luckily, after a thorough search, nothing suspicious was found, but the investigation is still ongoing.
Earlier that same day, a Vistara flight (UK17) from Delhi to London had to divert to Frankfurt because of a bomb threat that popped up on social media. They landed safely and were back on their way once security gave the thumbs-up. And don’t forget about the Akasa Air flight from Bengaluru to Mumbai, which also faced a bomb threat before it could even take off. Again, no danger was found.
It’s pretty concerning that since Monday, about 35 flights have either been diverted or had to make emergency landings because of similar threats. With this spike in incidents, the civil aviation ministry is ramping up security measures to keep passengers safe. It’s a tense time in the skies, and everyone’s staying vigilant.
