Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of trying to attack Arvind Kejriwal during his foot march in Vikaspuri, West Delhi, on Friday evening. They said that some troublemakers attempted to assault him, and AAP claimed the Delhi Police did not step in to stop it.

AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj expressed serious concerns about the attack, stating that if anything happens to Kejriwal, the BJP will be directly responsible. He suggested that this attack is a reaction to Kejriwal’s growing popularity, saying, “When the ED, CBI, and jail didn’t work, now BJP people are getting @ArvindKejriwal attacked.”

Delhi Chief Minister Atishi also condemned the BJP’s actions, saying the attack shows their desperation as they face AAP in the upcoming elections. She pointed out that if the attackers had been armed, it could have resulted in Kejriwal’s death. Atishi mentioned previous attacks on Kejriwal by BJP supporters and criticized the police for their lack of action.

Other AAP leaders, including former deputy CM Manish Sisodia and MLA Durgesh Pathak, also condemned the attack. Sisodia called it alarming and demanded accountability from the BJP, saying they have tried to undermine Kejriwal for years without success.

AAP leaders, including Kejriwal, are currently doing padyatras across various assembly areas to prepare for the February 2025 elections. So far, there has been no immediate response from the BJP regarding these serious allegations.
