Air India Express has announced a major increase in flights as part of its winter schedule. This boost affects three key Northeast cities: Guwahati, Agartala, and Imphal. In Guwahati, the airline has grown its weekly flights from 63 to 106, now offering direct flights to eight domestic cities, including Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, and Hyderabad. Guwahati also offers one-stop connections to 18 domestic and six international locations.
In Imphal, the airline has added 20 more flights, bringing the total to 34 each week. Since starting operations in Agartala in September 2024, Air India Express has also increased flights there, from 14 to 21 weekly. Agartala now offers direct flights to Guwahati and Kolkata, and one-stop services to 11 other cities.
Ankur Garg, Chief Commercial Officer, highlighted that the increase in flights improves travel options for the Northeast and strengthens Guwahati’s position as a key hub. With a growing fleet of over 90 aircraft, Air India Express is ready to meet the rising demand from more cities across India.
