On November 3, a tragic electrocution incident in Tadiparru village, East Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh, led to the deaths of four workers and left another critically injured. The workers—Veerraju, Nagendra, Manikanth, and Krishna—were setting up for a statue unveiling ceremony for Sardar Sarvai Papanna Goud when they accidentally touched a live electrical wire.
The high-voltage shock was fatal for all four men. A fifth worker suffered serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital, where medical staff are working to stabilize his condition.
The accident drew an immediate response from state officials. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu expressed his deep sorrow, saying, “It is heartbreaking to lose four lives in such an unexpected accident, and my heart goes out to the families.” He assured that the government would support the affected families during this difficult time.
Naidu announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh for each victim’s family. He also instructed local officials to ensure the injured person receives the best medical care available. An investigation into the circumstances of the electrocution is expected to follow.
