Shantanu Naidu’s name appears in Ratan Tata’s ₹10,000 crore will, showing their close relationship. Naidu worked for a Tata group company and later managed Tata’s private office. He will inherit part of Goodfellows, a venture that helps senior citizens.

The will lists various assets, including a 2,000 square-foot beach bungalow in Alibaug, a two-story house on Juhu Tara Road in Mumbai, fixed deposits over ₹350 crore, and a 0.83% stake in Tata Sons, which will go to the Ratan Tata Endowment Foundation (RTEF). Tata also made sure his pet dog, Tito, will receive care after his passing.

Naidu and Tata’s bond grew stronger through their mutual love for dogs. After finishing his master’s in the U.S., Naidu returned to work closely with Tata, who supported his socially focused projects, including Goodfellows. Despite facing health issues, Tata attended the launch of Goodfellows, where he invested.

The Halekai house in Colaba, where Tata lived, is owned by Ewart Investments, a part of Tata Sons. Its future will be determined by Ewart. Tata designed both the Halekai house and the Alibaug bungalow, though it’s unclear what will happen to the latter. The Juhu house, inherited from Tata’s father, has been closed for over twenty years and might be sold.

Tata had a large collection of 20-30 luxury cars stored at Halekai and the Taj Wellington Mews service apartments. The future of this collection is also being considered, with options including purchase by the Tata Group for display in its Pune museum or auctioning.

Even though Tata led the $100 billion-plus Tata Group, he didn’t appear on rich lists due to limited personal assets. The will will be processed by the Bombay high court, a procedure expected to take several months.
