CEO Albinder Dhindsa announced the launch on X, saying, “We have introduced buying with EMI on Blinkit! EMI options will be available for all orders over ₹2,999 (except orders with gold and silver coins). We believe this will improve affordability and enable better financial planning for our customers.”

Social Media Reactions

Reactions on social media have been mixed. Many users welcomed the new feature, with comments like, “You will replace Amazon soon! Way to go, Just Blinkit!” Another user said, “I’m starting to see the vision to be king of the jungle. Rooting for you guys!” Others praised the creativity behind the initiative, noting, “The creativity shines through, and it’s inspiring to see.”

On the flip side, some users raised concerns about buying groceries on credit. One user warned, “Disaster in making for Personal Financials!” Another remarked, “EMI on basic necessities like groceries is a recipe for disaster for a generation that is low on savings and high on debts.” A different user said, “You would make folks go bankrupt by introducing such cheap thrills.”

Along with the EMI feature, Blinkit also launched its seller program, Seller Hub, on Wednesday. This program lets brands sell through Blinkit without needing intermediaries or direct contact with the platform. Blinkit’s chief technology officer, Sajal Gupta, shared this update on X.
