Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has made her entry into electoral politics by filing her nomination for the Wayanad bypoll. Her husband, Robert Vadra, expressed his happiness about her choice, noting that she will put in a lot of effort and campaign effectively. He talked about her dedication over the years, saying, “I think it has been 35 years since I have known her… she has always worked hard for others.”
Robert mentioned that Priyanka’s decision to run is important, suggesting that if her father-in-law Rajiv Gandhi were alive, he would have been proud. He emphasized her talent for bringing people together and shared his joy about her getting involved in politics.
When asked about his own possible entry into politics, Robert Vadra said he would think about it if there was public interest. Regarding the ongoing investigations against him by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), he stated he is ready to cooperate, insisting he has done nothing wrong.
Before filing her nomination, Priyanka held a large roadshow in Kalpetta, where she thanked the local community for their support of her brother, Rahul Gandhi, during tough times. She was joined by her mother, Sonia Gandhi, brother Rahul, and Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge when she filed her nomination on October 23, 2024, ahead of the bypoll set for November 13.
