A tragic incident happened in Mehsana, Gujarat, where a wall at a construction site came crashing down, taking the lives of nine workers and injuring one. This awful event went down on Saturday when the laborers were busy digging a pit for an underground tank at a factory. The whole thing happened around 1:45 PM, catching them off guard as loose soil collapsed and buried them alive.

Rescue teams jumped into action right away, working hard to recover those trapped. Thankfully, a 19-year-old boy was rescued alive, giving everyone a glimmer of hope as he shared that around eight to nine workers were on-site when the accident happened. Authorities are still searching for the remaining workers, hoping for their safe return.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his sorrow over the incident, calling it “extremely sad.” He sent his best wishes for the quick recovery of the injured. To help the affected families, the government announced financial aid: Rs. 2 lakhs for the families of each deceased worker and Rs. 50,000 for those injured.
