In Pune, a food delivery guy named Rauf Shaikh lost his life late Friday night in a car crash with a suspected drunk driver. This tragic mess happened around 1 am in the fancy Koregaon area while Shaikh was on his motorcycle.

Before he hit Shaikh, Ayush Tayal, the driver, allegedly smashed into a two-wheeler, injuring three people. It’s a harsh reminder of how fast things can go downhill on the roads. According to the police, Shaikh got hit from behind, which caused severe injuries. They rushed him to the hospital, but sadly, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Police Investigation

After the crash, Tayal, who’s 34 and a senior exec, tried to bail but the police tracked him down at his home in Hadapsar using surveillance footage. They’ve charged him with serious offenses under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Motor Vehicles Act, including culpable homicide and reckless driving.

The authorities have sent Tayal for a medical check to see if he was really drunk during the incident. This case highlights ongoing worries about road safety and how some drivers act recklessly, stressing the need for stricter rules to prevent more tragedies like this.
