The results are in, and the BJP has locked down Haryana again, making it three wins in a row. They scored 48 seats in the Assembly, which is a bit of an uptick from 47 in 2014. But here’s the kicker, despite winning overall, eight of their ministers, including the Speaker, lost their seats.

On the other hand, Congress isn’t celebrating. They only managed to grab 36 seats, and with all the drama within the party, it’s a tough loss to digest. The vote share was super close, with BJP at 39.94% and Congress just behind at 39.09%. Talk about a nail-biter.

What Happened to the JJP?

Now, let’s chat about the Jannayak Janata Party (JJP). They used to be the BJP’s alliance, but this time they got totally wiped out, not winning a single seat. That’s a huge drop from their surprise 10 seats in 2019. The Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) only snagged two seats, and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)? Zero seats for them too.

Looking ahead, it looks like Nayab Singh Saini, the current Chief Minister, is set to take charge again. He won from the Ladwa seat and is feeling pretty good about the BJP’s showing, saying it’s all thanks to people believing in Prime Minister Modi’s policies.

Congress’s Reaction

Meanwhile, Congress leader Bhupinder Hooda was pretty shocked by the results. He pointed out that the election results didn’t match the vibe in the state. They lost a bunch of seats by slim margins, which raises questions about how effective their campaign was against the BJP’s hold.

The BJP ran their campaign on anti-corruption and transparency, while Congress tried to focus on issues like unemployment and rising prices, plus concerns about neglecting marginalized groups. The political scene in Haryana is changing, and it’ll be interesting to see how both parties handle this new chapter.
